Students in graphic arts here, restoring old photos in photoshop was probably one of my favorite projects to make with that program. It might get a little tricky sometimes, but it's gives you so much satisfaction to see that old picture comeback fully, getting rid of those scratches and finally making it look like new!

The "mutterherz" on the one picture is so cute. For those who dont know german, it translates to "motherheart" and is used as a formal term of endearment especially used when families were a lot stricter

People need to remember that restoration can sometimes use the artist's 'best guess' at what can be ripped and gone from a photo. It looks like magic, but it's not.

I love the oldness of the original photos. It's the character of the creases, the bad lighting, the cracks, the over-exposure etc the makes the memories come alive again. Life isn't perfect. It's ok to remember things and to look at things that aren't perfect, because that's real life. That's how things really were.

Photo restoration is my favorite task to do at work! The joy on people’s faces when they see their new print with beloved family members’ faces recreated is second to none. Really nothing brightens my day like them seeing the finished product!
