The masterpiece was designed by British couturier Norman Hartnell who also designed Her Majesty's wedding dress. At the request of The Queen, Hartnell incorporated national emblems of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries embroidered in pastel-colored silks as well as gold and silver threads. The completed coronation gown featured a sweetheart neckline and lattice design decorated with seed pearls, sequins, and crystals. The glittering gown was one of the most important creations in history.
