She treated her like a mother first, and a queen second. She knew Elizabeth had a hard task, and she respected it and yet didn't treat her as someone to be feared first.. I think she trusted Elizabeth way more than she did Charles, which Elizabeth knew when she took the boys in after Diana's passing instead of them loving with their father. She knew they needed her.

Harry said once before Meghan that he sometimes felt like he would forget his mom. But his grandmother would just make him laugh and then tell him all he had to do was remember to smile, because that, was his mother in him.

He said that growing up he once was crying late at night and his grandma found him and he was afraid he'd be scolded but she just hugged him and told him to cry.

He and William have both said things like that happened. They said at her funeral that To the world she was a queen, but to them, she was their grandmother and their biggest supporter and greatest fan. Yes she was a queen, but she was so much more as well.
