Nice to see someone do a great gob, been a paint sprayer for 20+ years but now moved onto PDR (less health risk), don't forget your gloves and head cover, isocyanine absorbs through the skin, just a thought... great job.

I am a hobbyist who likes to do an occasional paint job on my older vehicles. I have restored two classic cars through the years and painted them myself. I also paid big bucks to a good resto body shop to restore a more valuable muscle car too. They delivered!Currently I am restoring a 78 Dodge Lil Red Express pickup truck. I decided to shoot it with acrylic enamel paint and found it to be easy to paint, after I finally figured out what the right pressure setting was for my guns. Became very good at scraping off paint runs before that! LOL Initially I bought a Devilbis Finish LIne gun for hobbyists. Rather disappointed when I couldn't get it to reassemble after changing out the tips. Would not shoot again! Waste of $. So I tossed it in the corner and bought some cheaper guns from Harbor Freight chain store. Actually, they do a pretty good job for me. If I were painting every day in a body shop, I might spend $500-$1000 on higher end guns. But I have picked up some decent guns for under $75 and even touch up guns for as little as $15. My idea is, if it works, do it! Your thoughts on cheap guns for the hobbyist?

Gunman I’m so glad I watched your videos as Today I resprayed my black Mazda bt50 after fucking it up using aerosol cans and it cost be bugger all it was doing my head in and it came up trumps. I must say it’s great to watch such a master painter like you. Fantastic at your job mate keep it up.

It's been years since I've done any body work...to date myself, I'm from the Acrylic lacquer days...lol...so now with everything being urethqane, my question is how long does a basecoat need to dry before you can mask it off to add a second color when doing a two tone or like adding ralley stripes on the hood and trunk? Aslo how long before the clear coat can be cut and buffed?

I think your video is really good but what you don't mention or of all the videos that I have seen on youtube is that the pot life of 2 pack clearcoat is about 20-25 minutes. I sprayed the rear quarters on my car last weekend and did not realise that the clearcoat was curing off in the gun and have spent the last two days removing the clearcoat and paint that I applied last weekend and am now in the process of re-applying all the coats as well as the primer and all of the rubbing down/prep work
