Great video. One of my favorites was "clearly unreasonable" demonstration. Also marking the free relief club length, although not technically required, creates an integrity to the situation. Thanks.

Love these golf rules videos. So informative, and great for new and experienced golfers to re-cap. Keep them coming guys 👍

Relief from sprinkler. You should show that the relief area is a semi-circle with a radius of one club length, but excluding any of the the sprinkler head

Love how you made up the first one. I see what you did there.

with the drops, does it need to get re-dropped if it rolls closer to the hole?

"It's clearly unreasonable that you're going to hit a driver 100 yards".

He clearly hasn't seen me play

I'm still just glad they changed how you have to drop the ball, but hey, golf is fun. Thanks for the pointers and reminders.

I never heard about the penalties for starting before or after your tee time. Most times we get up there and go around the time when prompted. I do not think disqualification should happen after 7 mins I think which was said. Maybe shoud add 2 strokes every 2 minutes delay. Thanks for posting. I learned new things.

My golfing days are long over, I was always taught when dropping a ball it has to be from shoulder height ?

Or as we do on Saturday morning.. just pick it up and drop it within arm's length. Play on!

Can you go thru the scenario where you have red or yellow but ball flies directly into the water without hitting land and what the options are?

We've a hole where they green is on the other side of a lake which is marked with yellow stakes. What happens if your ball pitches on the bank in front of the green which is not inside the yellow stakes, but rolls back into the water. Do you drop back on the other side or on the green side not nearer the hole?

The one or two club lengths issue is easy to remember (well it is to me) and if my partners are unsure and ask I tell them, if you move the ball first it’s one club length and no penalty, if you measure from the ball it’s two club lengths and a penalty.

I recall a fourth option with red hazards unless the rules have changed. Opposite side of hazard equidistant to where the ball last crossed or some such animal?

Also in my world often abnormal ground conditions are not marked, although it is clear that you are in tractor or green keeper/maintenance damage- can you clear up what the rules say about this- can you still claim GUR even if it is not marked as such? ( I guess your playing partners would have to agree?

The guys I play with say, "I'm going to move off of this dirt.", "I'm getting out from behind this tree.", "I'm using winter rules in July to get a good lie." the best one, is 3 putts, and on the last one you say "That's good" so they count it as two putts.

The red stake rule. You've hooked one into the water, taken your two club lengths from the point of entry, but when you drop the ball, it rolls down the slope to within a foot of the water.. You have no stance unless you play it backwards. Is it in play, nonetheless?

Is it ok to ground your club if you play from gur?

Under Provisional ball. Tappin said: "If you find your original ball you CAN play it". The correct wording is "MUST" play it. Once the original is found (not OB), the provisional ceases to exist.
Example: First ball on par 3 might be OB. Provisional ball goes in the hole for a possible total score of 3. The player finds his first ball NOT OB. He cannot choose to take his provisional ball score.

On provisional balls, an incident happened yesterday in an Open I was playing. My playing partner hit off line to the right and decided to play a provisional, which he hit close to where the first ball had gone. It so happened that we found both balls but, by accident, he picked up his first ball and played his provisional ball. Should he have replaced the first ball or was the provisional ball now the 'ball in play'? If he had replaced the original ball, what penalty should have been applied?
