This is the first meditation for The Mindful Self Compassion programme by the Centre for Mindful Self Compassion .

The aim of this medtation is not only to bring awareness , but affectionate awareness to our breath .

To let go of striving to do it right, but to just be with the breath , allowing ourselves to be held and caressed by our breath.

Also to give ourselves the permission to use other senses to focus on to anchor us into the moment , if focusing on the breath is too uncomfortable for us.
