Thanks for the video. As winter approaches, can you do a video on what a hive needs to get through winter? How many frames of capped honey etc and what to look for. Thanks!

Nectar flow is still on here in Tennessee, not Spring strength but enough that the hives are still putting on weight and raising large amounts of brood. Frostweed, Ironweed, and goldenrod are blooming just to name a few.

The salt water solution works great, i started using it after seeing one of your vids about it last year. I add a few drops of dish detergent. I have 35 hives lined up going down a fence line full of psn oak and it keeps it killed off as well. Good info

Great video. I’m a new bee keeper over near Helen GA. Seems like you’re not that far away! So this is all very interesting for us. Thanks!

Mine have been on the centipede grass early in the mornings. Now they have started on some sumac bushes in the edge of the woods. Back in June there was a dearth with nothing available.

Interesting about the saltwater. I will find your solution, but my saltwater pool never killed any grass after thousands of gallons emptied into the yard.

Amazing they would complain about salt, but not say anything about weed killers

This year, the new bees i got have absolutely nothing and im flabbergasted. After 5 years of dealing with beetles, mites, invader bees, wasps, failed overwintering. This time theres nothing. The bees are pristine and im in shock.

Anyway, sorry for the infestations. Hope you can resolve it and cut your losses.

Hey David or Jimmy, or anyone with experience, I have a question. I went out of town on vacation for a week (that was 14 days ago). I put cut 2 slabs of pollen patties on the frames, they were 2 or 3 inch wide slabs, 5 days later when I returned both slabs were gone. In the front left bottom corner of the hive was a pile of what looked like sawdust. Like if you swept sawdust with a broom into the corner. I assumed it was the pollen patties. Now today, I opened hive to inspect and most is gone, some still left with about 50 bee's on the side of the broodbox surrounding it. Anyone ever have this happen before? I purchased a nuc from Barnyard bee's a month or month and a half ago with 3 frames drawn out if I'm remembering correctly. Currently 6 frames completely drawn out and the other 4 frames are being worked on. Those 6 frames are mostly capped brood. Also feeding 1 to 1 sugar water since day 1.

I'm curious where these kinda people think salt comes from lol, they go out west of salt lake City UT they really take a fit lol. There's a really large salt lake they. Matter of fact it's where the Land speed records are ran at lil on a rather large salt lake

Silly rabbits...salt will not damage the Earth. There are natural deposits of salt called salt licks, and if you find a natural salt lick here in the Ozarks, you can bet deer won't be far away. In other news, was driving thru mid-MO yesterday and noticed the goldenrod is starting to bloom. Seems a little early...

Spraying weed killer beneath the hives shouldn't help a lot.
