On this week's video we discover some wax moth damage, see the first hive beetle of the year, and capture a late swarm. We will also discuss a few aggressive hives and how I plan to deal with this issue. We will also see other interesting things such as Queen cups, eggs, and emerging brood.

What a nice looking bee yard that is. Like it...

You need to kill the queen from the really bad aggressive hive and give them a frame of eggs from the hive that has the queen with the nice laying pattern. May take a few cycles but a new queen may calm them down.

Good time to do a walk away split??? One or two frames with brood bees and a queen cell or two?

FYI Some folks are using peppermint candy for Small Hive Beatles.

On Alexander hive I would not have put the smoker on top of the frames as it can burn bees and frames. My suggestion.

Once they put an egg into the queen cup, it is then called a queen cell even before it is capped.

I do not know why and I don't truly understand it but early fall I put out chicken breast sliced in half hanging on hooks for feet off the ground near my beehives and they seem to do a lot better than they did in previous years weathering the winter 😐🫤🤷
