Honestly, not trying to be rude, but how can parents complain about their children’s features if they are the ones that gave it to them? Like am I the only that thinks this way?🤨

I got sad when that one girl said her mom considers having her a plastic surgery. Parents should be the first ones to accept you overall right?

"And even if a girl does enhance her looks, that's her own choice and no one has the right to criticize her for it." - but everyone has the right to criticize her looks if she DOESN'T enhance her looks (and call her ugly), lmao. I think they're kinda lost in all of this.

When I went on a trip to Korea this summer, after one layover and a total travel time of 22 hours, I must have looked like a real mess. My hair and clothes, and of course my make-up less face, everything. As the airplane was about to land and I looked around me, I saw Korean girls take out their make-up cases and even hair curlers and such, fixing up their appearance. I was like: "What on earth are they doing? It's so late, they're probably going straight home and sleep." As I boarded the metro to Seoul, I noticed that nearly everyone was styled to perfection. Especially girls. There are barely any women without make-up. I really felt like people were staring at my and seizing me up and down. I know one reason must be that I am European with fair skin and blonde hair, but I still felt quite vulnerable, and even though I was so tired I just wanted to sleep, I almost regretted not taking the time to fix my appearance. I think this is the pressure the girls in this video talk about. In my homecountry nobody gives a sh*t if you look like you haven't slept in 2 days or if you're out in your comfy clothes. Even though I loved Korea, I don't think I could live there for a long time. That competition and judgment is just too much.

In india most of the parents don't even allow us to wear makeup

how could the parent say to her 15 yr old "your ugly u can't do anything in life with that face" like srsly my mom never told me my flaws I just started noticing them myself but her convincing me I'm beautiful along with the rest of the family made me more confident..I bet korean teens be standing alone while even their families complain about something they can't control..

This somehow shows why suicide rate is high in SK. The social pressure on people is just high to comply with the superficialities of the world. While competition is good, there must also be a conscious effort to leave no one behind. No human being is unworthy.

Girl: starts talking about why she doesn’t like being on camera because of no make up.

cameraman: Proceeds to zoom into her face.

I was stunned to hear that some Korean girls get plastic surgery as a graduation or birthday gift.

In America, the normal greeting is, "hey long time no see! How are you?"
But in Korea, the normal greeting is, "wow, you got so much prettier/good looking!"

Or, if it's the first time you're meeting:
America: "Hey, nice to meet you, what's your name?"
Korea: "You're very ___ looking"

Looks weren't that important back in the days, plastic surgery has ruined Korean society...

Their parents are telling them to get surgery for a job.
Meanwhile me asking my Indian mom to get a concealer:
All you have to do is study hard to get the job, nobody is gonna give the job because of your looks.
Meanwhile
Korean jobs:-Am I a joke to you?

Im so grateful for my parents. Even when I look like a wet rat in high school they still tell me that I’m beautiful and worthy but they still didn’t allowed me to wear makeup until college

I just wish South Korea didn't focus too much on beauty standards to point where applying for a job relies on your physical appearance
