On July 28, the doors to the Haunted Mansion open.

I finally watched this movie after buying the DVD. It was OK. If you are a big fan of the haunted mansion rides like I am, you will appreciate all the subtle and not-so-subtle nods and references to the haunted mansion ride. Other than that, the movie was basically so-so. The special effects were pretty spectacular, though. It’s definitely worth watching if you’ve got nothing better to do but don’t get your hopes up unless you’re a diehard fan of the haunted mansion rides.

I have a feeling that, it's gonna have ALL of the Mansion's potential owners in it....the pirate, the bride and maybe others...and maybe they could show a backstory on the Hatbox ghost....as to why he did this, and why everyone is trapped here ...so far (in the best way) the trailers have not spoiled ANY of the major plot! They are showing us what we already know, in different forms, i also have a feeling that there is gonna be a MASSIVE story behind this house....

I appreciate the fact they've actually made the ghosted look creepy. They know their audience is people who grew up with the ride and loved it. I'm getting the same feeling and vibes of the first pirates of the Caribbean movie, which is a welcome feeling.

The story wasn’t much but there was so many references to the ride from the wallpaper, furniture, doors, paintings even some of the chairs that makes it enjoyable for fans of the attraction
