Nobody outside of Clemson cares about what Clemson is selling these days. Graduation rate? Off the charts. Loyalty? Off the charts. If those are your selling points, cool. But as far as being in the business of winning national championships, they aren’t in those convos anymore.

Losing to Louisville at home after a bye week is inexcusable. I like Dabo but if you want to be in the championship conversation you have to win the games a champion wins. He needs to focus on the SCar game this weekend and let the playoff seedings fall in place as they will.

Swinney has a point about the college football playoffs -- but the problems with college athletics in general go far beyond that. NIL and the transfer portal have turned amateur college athletics into semi-pro athletics. See Nick Saban's videos for details on that. The solution is to spin off the college athletic departments from the universities as a semi-professional league, and let the universities get back to educating students rather than negotiating for TV revenues. That way, high school athletes who want to become pros could avoid the hypocrisy of pretending to be students and receive union wages for professional work, and college athletics would be reserved for real amateurs who are students first and athletes second. We might begin by banning all athletic scholarships and hold athletes to the same academic standards as other students.

Dabo plays two sec teams one year; “we try to schedule 2 sec teams each year”. Dabo is just lying to himself at this point. They have scheduled 2 teams in the past but definitely not lately until this year. Maybe don’t get blown out 31-3?
