How to build raised Beds for Gardening. Florida gardening

Hi, Im from Canada, living in Florida now 🌴. I am trying to learn my ways here and deciding about how I'll build my new garden. One thing that got me worried is when it's raining here, there's a lot of water accumulation. I don't use pesticides in my yard, but what if my neighbors do. Do you think it could get transferred through the water from the surrounding backyards to the bottom of my raised beds and contaminate my crops with pesticides? Do you think the lining would help? Sorry, random question. I've been trying to find a decent answer from experienced Floridian gardeners 😊🙏🏼🌿

Because these are very short bed I installed the liner to reduce soil loss and cardboard to help with moisture retention since it still get very warm in Florida over the fall months

I noticed you have many different raised beds made up of different material. I am an experience northern gardener wanting my first raised bed in Sarasota. I am partial to the wood beds but wondered which you find works best.

Why put cardboard if you're using a plastic liner?
