Why Is La Sagrada Familia Not Finished?

#shorts Antonio Gaudí designed the cathedral La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. Begun in 1882 and still unfinished, it is one of Barcelona's most famous landmarks.

If this is finished in 2026, I'll be amazed. But if it were, what a great European trip. Notre Dame should be fully finished in the same year. I visited this Cathedral in 1990 and nobody predicted it would be finished within my lifetime.

Was in Barcelona in 1977 for a day visit, while living in Milano. And was greatly blessed to be able to tour the major basilicas in Italy, Switzerland, Ausria, W and E Germany, France, and England.
All those inspired me to major in Art History and Architectire at the University of Houston.

La visitan millones de personas cada año podéis imaginar cuantos la visitarán cuando esté terminada?
Sin duda se convertirá en uno de los monumentos más visitados del mundo .
En un icono de la ciudad de Barcelona y del mundo.... porque es un monumento increíble .
Una cosa es ver este vídeo y otra cosa es verla allí mismo .
La verdad es...que impresiona .

The Milan Cathedral took 800 years to finish. So thats nothing.

There are some buildings that have taken even long of a time to complete, but this cathedral definitely has to get the title of the longest construction that's still in progress today.

I was in Barcelona yesterday for Christmas. The size of the Sagrada Familia is insane. However I think it looks horrible.

Notre dame took around two hundred yet it was even older burned down and it's almost rebuilt yet this youngster is taking forever
