I love this. I grew up on tv dinners, fast food, and snacks. The rare times my family cooked at home I was never taught anything. It turned me into a pretty picky eater that hated veggies. But when it was time for me to live on my own, and cook at home to save money, I had to teach myself how to cook. And because of that I grew to love food in a very different way because I MADE this food.. ALL by myself, so it was rewarding to eat veggies and things I never had before. As a kid that was allowed to watch tv all day with a bag of Cheetos, who thought I would be cooking up green beans, broccoli, asparagus, on the daily and loving it? 😂

I feel so validated seeing her eat two packs of the soup dumplings!! I LOVE those, but after one pack I was like “I need much more than this” 😬

Cooking is my literal life. I know it's not for everyone but I wake up excited to cook. Since I could be trusted near a kitchen my mom made me help out in the kitchen and cooked almost everything ourselves. I didn't like it at first but after a while I grew to appreciate how much time she spent teaching me everything I needed to know about how to cook wholesome meals.

Can you maybe make a video that debunks common new years resolutions, and improved ones for physical and mental health?

Abbey! I only have a microwave and a toaster oven. I’d love a video of hunger crushing combo dishes for people that don’t have a stove & conventional oven!

I love this. I cook weekly because of meal prepping for work and while I don’t enjoy cooking per say (I’m a baker, all the way) I appreciate how much I’ve improved over the last two years.

I’m leaning what veggies I love, how I love them, what flavors go best together for my palette. While I may never love cooking the way some do, I appreciate it for what it is.

My mother (who was a phenomenal cook) used to tell me "if you can read, you can cook". This is true, and with tools like YouTube today, there are also techniques you can learn through video as well.

I absolutely love cooking. I do it Day in and out and always grounds me and nourishes me in more ways than one. Even if it does take up 90 percent of my time lol.

Girl must love brown sugar. Well she's right to! Brown sugar anything is amazing. Brown sugar instant oatmeal my fav flavor lol. I'm glad to see stuff like that not framed as bad.

Salad kits from the local grocery store are amazing. I used to demonize them because of the upcharge, but they have been such a key player in my goal to pack my lunch rather than buy.

I have made plenty of burnt offerings! Usually its the bloody rice, which just waits till my back is turned and burns on the bottom just for fun.

intuitive eating and cooking my own meals has really helped me come a long way. i suffer from disordered eating and several years ago suffered the ramifications of that via loss of period, stamina, and energy. i've gained all of my weight back since then, but still suffer with intense body dysmorphia and disordered eating thoughts ... i cook my own lunches before work every morning, turn them into hunger crushing combos, and have found myself thriving. i crave less snack food, i'm fuller longer, and my manager and several customers have mentioned that i look like i've been slimming down, which is intentional (but in a safe, healthy way this time around) and i'm over the moon about it. i forgot hoe much i love to cook until i started doing it again! the confidence boost has also motivated me to keep up on other self-care regimens; regular dental care and skin care. it's also helped me immensely with my overall mental health (on top of my meds and vitamins, lol.) i love you, i love your videos, i love your advice. thank you so much for existing, i haven't felt so peaceful and satisfied in a long time.

Hi, Abbey! I love all of your reaction and diet-trying videos, I love how you demonstrate healthy, intuitive eating in how you tweak celebrity diets. I also fell in love with your channel because of all your educational deep-dives, I hope you make some of those soon too because I think it’s important for everyone to be exposed to research as well as anecdotes. Much love for all you do!

How do you feel on vegan meats? (Beyond meat, impossible, tofurkey) I have always wondered if they are healthy for us or something to avoid or eat minimally?

Could you please do a video on "healthy/ unhealthy" fats and oils? I always grew up thinking olive oil, seed oils, etc are "healthy" but now I hear otherwise! It's so confusing.
