Appleton teen making the most of her remaining time

Jerika Bolen, 14, who was diagnosed with Type 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy, has decided to go on hospice and live out her final wishes over the summer including having a prom July, 22, 2016, at the Grand Meridian in Appleton.

Poor baby was suffering so much. She is so loved and she knows that they love her. Eventually she was melting away in pain. Now she is finally at peace with no pain and she is free with the angels and in the loving arms of our father God and with Jesus.

Dying so young is more than merely dying. It is to lose so large a part of life. Never experiencing the freedom of adulthood. Never getting to walk down the aisle at your wedding. Never holding your newborn child. Never growing old with the one you love. Still, she was fearless.

I understand what she means by "Quality of Life", such a big decision. She did have a voice and understood that she didn't want to be a burnden to her family. Being a Mom in this situation would have taken me out right along. May her family have strength and that her beautiful self and soul Rest in Peace. 🙏💕
