500 QI BEANS IN ONE WEEK - Qi's Crop Guide - Stardew Valley 1.5

This time I'm going to show you the best ways to farm Qi Beans for the quest "Qi's Crop" that was introduced in the Stardew Valley 1.5 update. This Quest can be gotten in the Golden Walnut Room on Ginger Island and you have to grow and ship 500 Qi Fruits. I'll talk about all the probabilities of getting Qi Beans and some other interesting things like unimplemented quests that I learned from looking at the games code and data files.

I took this quest without any preparation and completed it my first time. After collecting some beans by pushing palm trees and blowing up quarry ores, what I ended up doing to get Qi beans was to stay on my farm constantly fishing in the little pond where you normally only catch trash. This way you will not waste time fighting fish, only catching either trash or Qi beans. Nor will you waste time travelling around trying to find beans. It's also extremely easy. Just constantly fish, grow crops and use seed maker. Maybe not the fastest way, but probaly one of the easiest. Took about 14 days or so.

I have used Pierre to buy back my Qi fruits from a failed challenge after I sold all of them to him on the last day of the challenge. It was great and I completed the quest ond my next attempt.

In 1.6, I’ve found that making treasure totems and using them at the ginger island doggie area gives you so much. I recommend it if you have a lot of mystic trees.

OVERVIEW OF THE VIDEO

What are Qi Beans?
- take 4 days to grow (unless using speed grow and agriculturist)
- grows in any season
- can be found mining rocks, killing enemies, chopping trees, shaking trees, fishing, fishing chests, digging etc...

Professions.
Tip: change professions (found in sewers)
- farming: agriculturist (should decrease wait time -> faster fruit)
- fishing: pirate (gives more loot while fishing -> more beans)
*the other two options don't affect the outcome of this quest.

Space.
Make sure you have enough space. Use ginger island if you need.
- Dig some space, use deluxe speed grow, and plant wheat so that the speed grow doesn't disappear. When you have seeds, plant them and remove the wheat.
- Other option is to just manually put speed grow, water, and dig the dirt each time you plant your seeds

"Cheats"?
- the ways to cheese this quest no longer work and have been patched. You will always lose the beans and crops if you hang onto them for next time.
- apparently you can sell Pierre your qi fruit on the last day of the quest and he might sell you them back later for when you do it again... Not sure if this is reliable information still

Best Way to get Beans?
- USE THE SEED MAKER once you have some qi fruits already. They will usually give you at LEAST one seed.
- digging artifacts
- turn on dangerous mines. (only works after you complete "danger in the deep" quest. Go to floor 120 regular mines and activate it)
- blow stuff up in mines and quarry
- open chests in volcano dungeon
- use monster musk (only available after a wizard quest) to create more monsters -> more drops
- *fishing (treasure chests can give 1-6 qi beans). Add treasure tackle/dressed spinner, eat to increase your luck too
- open all omni geodes asap (if you have lots of them)

Other Minor Ways:
- trash cans
- breaking fiber
- shaking trees
- cutting down trees
- omni geodes (if you don't have many of them)

*Fishing seems like the most productive way to get beans, if you use what's been said already. And if you don't have many bombs/geodes/monster musk. :)

first time i did the quest, i ended up with 496 qi fruits by the end of the month :( i really hated how i did the math wrong. if only we had Fairy Dust for crops (instead of just machines) 😔

This is my favorite challenge sine I find it so easy to complete, you just need plenty of space and a lot of seed makers. The only thing is that you will make less money during the bean challenge since you will have less space to grow other crops so I feel like it’s better to do this challenge in the winter

Not all Qi Beans disappear, the Giant Qi Fruit doesn't!

You can keep your qi fruits after the challenge by selling them to Pierre and then buying them back later. (I sold about 10 fruits)

I just failed this quest so I need ALL the help I can get. I was growing some and putting them in the seed maker immediately and that was helping but I was still going to be around 200 short @_@ thanks for all the people telling their stories too! I did SO MUCH MINING @____@

Oh I needed this video! I am so slow with the new quests because I dont want the new content to end soon 🙈 this quest one will be my next big project. So this video was really helpful again. I cant wait for these unimplemented quests to come into the game 🙆‍♀️ so cool you found these informations in the code. I am going to rewatch your video several times to make sure I really didnt miss a thing 😁
