Olive, Coconut Oil Carrot Soap
Ingredients:
100 g distilled water (3.52 oz)
65 g lye (2.29 oz)
363 g olive oil (12.80 oz)
91 g coconut oil (3.20 oz)
50 g carrot puree (1.76 oz)

Tools:
Stainless pot
Gloves
Safety goggles
Immersion blender
Silicone moulds

Instructions:
1.Pour the water into a stainless pot, add the lye and stir until the lye has dissolved.
2.Add the olive oil, the coconut oil and the carrot puree to the lye solution and blend, using an immersion blender, until reaching a trace.
3.Pour the soap into the silicone moulds. Let the soap sit for 24 – 48 hours before unmoulding. Cover with a blanket to help the gelification.
4.Unmould the soap and let it cure for at least 2 months before using.
The olive and coconut oil gives you a hard and hydrating bar of soap, perfect for sensitive skin.

Tips:
* Always use safety goggles and gloves when making soap.
* Use a stainless pot or special plastic container for soap making.
*Always work in a ventilated area when preparing the lye.
* Never mix water into lye, which can cause a dangerous chemical reaction.
First pour the water, then the lye.
* It is safe to use your cooking tools for soap making, you just have to wash them well afterwards.
* You can also use olive pomace oil, which is cheaper and you get a very similar quality soap to pure olive oil soap.
* If you use olive pomace oil you reach trace faster and a pudding consistency. If you use pure olive oil it takes longer to reach trace and it is much lighter.
* It usually takes 2 - 10 minutes for soap to trace.
Enjoy your homemade soap!
