Other than that: I have become aware that hp is also more forgiving in lazer, so theres that aswell!

and for the people experiencing input delay or similar: lazer has a built in offset wizard that lets you adjust your offset based off recent plays! neat!

spazza17 covered this recently, he said lazer is not necessarily "easier", we've just gotten used to a really flawed system. It's like eating a five star meal after being forced to eat the same 3 star meal for 11 years

Lazer makes it easier to pass maps but harder to set better scores. Imo.

what i love about lazer is the double time. I can set how fast i want it, so I dont have to use third party softwares or mcosu. it makes practicing much easier

its not like accing in lazer is harder for no reason. in a future update, slider head accuracy will also count towards the map's acc-able objects, as opposed to stable's sliders awarding 0 acc pp. this literally means all maps will have more acc pp, and farming on lazer would award more pp than stable.

also stuff like the reverse in reverse sliders, slider ticks and slider ends now count towards total acc, so i dont think people's profile acc will go much lower.
its just a matter of getting used to, tbh.

makes sense why I can do streams better now than before.

I've been playing Lazer for years now, that means also way before their added pp to Lazer. I don't understand why anyone would continue to play using the old client when Lazer is absolutely amazing to play with! If you choose the old client because of the change in sliderhead accuracy, you're just delaying the inevitable time where you must switch. If you actually care about pp then you should switch to Lazer now to get a headstart on the rest that doesn't move yet.

I'm on linux so lazer is basically my only option and I can tell you it's great. As you said because there's no notelock passes are way easier. I got my 10, 9 and 7 star pass medals all on lazer. Sliderhead accuracy isn't really a problem it's just people aren't used to it like many of the other stuff. The most important problem is performance. Personally I get better performance and lower latency on lazer than stable but it's the opposite for some people, and some are just so used to the higher latency that lazer feels weird. Another thing I like about lazer is that practicing is much easier with lazer mods and the rate changes on dt or ht. Unless you have performance issues the only reason to not play on lazer is your familiarity with stable

slider heads is only one of the reasons. there is also song select skins that don't work which makes people turn back to stable. people care a lot for the song select skins

I find nice how there is a 'balance' with the changes, while the notelock is being removed, making overall gameplay and specifically streams a lot easier and in exchange, every object on screen has accuracy and you have to acc sliderheads, hopefully they take into account this extra accuracy for pp eventually, I'm sure that would make some people interested in at least giving it a try.

Lazer also feels easier because it actually works, in osu the draw and keyboard input are all in one so you are limited by the amount of frames you can get and how much they are stable for the response time of your presses

Correct me if I'm wrong but hp drain is also significantly more forgiving from the maps I've tested making high star passes pretty easy.

i think both games are fairly balancedin terms of difficulty, even with notelock on stable it can be made easier with the introduction of multi threading system implemented in lazer making playing stable would be similar to lazer, because inputs can be more precise so youre less likely to get notelock at a professional level

nah game performance matters most.
I get .9ms latency consistently on Stable, vs 1.1ms latency on Lazer

Also, slider-end difficulty is HUGE. Kick sliders & buzz sliders are harder on Lazer IMO, and 95% of stream maps use these heavily.

Still, these gameplay mechanic changes are for the better.

it is easier in lazer to follow the slider without losing acc, especially it is visible on tech-heavy maps, so i wouldn't say lazer sliders are always harder to acc, for me actually lazer is way easier to play

1/3rd of my top100 was set on Lazer.
Lazer helped me drop bad habits from Stable and I actually got better at streams (I can FC streams which I couldn't before).
Also tech is so much more fun to play now, because I don't have to hit short sliders early (you can hit a sliderhead after a reverse/end) and can play everything on time.
Switch to lazer now!

playing without notelock is so fun but also so cursed
