d=v.t + 0.5 a t(squared)
d=(0 × 8) + 0.5 × 9.8 × 8(squared)
d= 0.5 × 9.8 × 64
313.6 = 0.5 × 9.8 × 64
Thx For Your Videos

In the year 2020, this is still helping. Your videos are so clear, concise and to the point. I love the silly stories you make along with the examples too.

Can you please explain where that formula comes from? I'm especially confused why we need to divide "a * t-square" by 2.

I'm taking physics right now, so this is pretty basic, but I really like what you're doing with your YouTube channel. Not only are you doing programming (and other tech) tutorials, but also some school subjects. Keep up the good work :)

The distance is equal to 313.6 meters when time is 8 seconds. Thank you for your videos!! They truly are helping me

I'm confused. Why is it +1/2 in the equation. In the previous video after 1 sec it was 9, 8 distance, and now it is 4, 9.

Bucky I watch all your videos all the time, and I just realized you were doing math videos now! Amazing job your doing with all these tutorials, this is a great service to the people! My favorite videos are your Android tutorials but I'll be brushing up on some math now that I know you're doing this!

What I don’t get is that how is the first distance 4.9 meters away? If something travels at 9.8 meters per second, shouldn’t it be 9.8 meters away in one second?

I understand that, it's 9.8 meters per second per second. Which means you don't reach the full velocity of 9.8 meters per second until 1 second has passed. That is if your starting velocity is 0 mps. Then after 2 seconds your acceleration has increased to 19.6 meters per second per second.

What I don't fully understand is that, if 9.8 mps is the rate of fall, how is it that it only traveled 4.9 m after 1 sec? Is that due to a?

d=0+1/2 × 9.8 = 4.9
( we are finding out the distance after 8 seconds
so you do 8 squared which is 64)
4.9 × 64 = 313.6
( DRUM ROLE PLEASE, THE ANSWER IS 313.6 METERS)
