Writer Amor Towles finds inspiration in a visit to one of his favorite places in The Met, the magical studiolo from the Ducal Palace in Gubbio. For Towles, The Met is not just one museum, but many.

My son spent his childhood at The Met.
Now I spend my retirement years at The Met.

Loved this! And agreed totally with the sentiment that being in a museum is time well spent. Unfortunately living in Australia the Met is not that easy to get to. I have experienced it once and it was glorious. The studio looks amazing, will be checking it out online.

I wish I could meet you at the Met; it is my happy place! Unfortunately, I will probably never again have the opportunity to be in New York, even to visit. 🙁 How I wish that it were not such an expensive city.
