This video shows step-by-step how to analyze your iPhone with open-source forensic software from Amnesty International for certain spyware like the recently discovered Pegasus, that was used against journalists, activists and politicians. This tutorial was recorded on macOS with Homebrew in Terminal, but it would also work on Linux.

something like pegasus cant be done by just the average joe. the hacker needs to have a legit cell provider as well that opens a connect with the device they are targetting. so the corruption runs deeper.

From my understanding, the unique thing about Pegasus is that it can not currently be detected or stopped by anti-virus/spyware software. But what you have demonstrated suggests that it should be able to at least give a warning about it. Why do anti-spyware applications have so much trouble with it?

Something I have come to realise is there’s nothing you can really do to protect yourself from these pests infecting your phone and computer with this shite, if you don’t click on their links and your phone still gets infected just because they have your number? What can you do

Do you have a tutorial on how to do this on Android? Or is there anyone out there that could help me? Send my backup data to be analyzed or something like that? I've got more than enough reason to suspect my phone is and has been infected with something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, let me stop you right there. You’re saying that you have to back up your data and have it encrypted well isn’t that silly? Because then you’re allowing that Pegasus program or whatever spy program is on your phone you’re allowing it through doing that to technically go into your computer as well before you go and clear anything out so tell me how that’s a good thing.
