I'm an introvert and I cherish my solitude. I have my garden, my books, and my fur babies. That's all I need . ❤

Never did enjoy socializing. Now I’m not required. Hallelujah. Glad to be living in peace.

I ve been alone since my husband was killed in Vietnam! And that’s been 57 years. I like my peace and quiet, I read what I want, I eat what I want, I go where I want, and I watch what I want on TV. I paint daily, and love it, I do calligraphy, I can read my Bible when I want. Why would I want anything more?

I hate when therapists name a person lonely just because they spend most time alone. I'm not lonely, I just do well alone.😊

I am 73. I love being alone with short intermittent visitors ONLY! I meditate and float in my own zone and cannot wait to graduate to the next realm.

Trying to please others all the time, is draining.

I turn 70 this month and I don't have family or close friends. But, I'm a friendly person who will have brief, pleasant interactions with strangers or the people who work at the grocery store or my neighbors. I was quite extroverted when I was younger. But now I feel closer to Nature than other people.

I’m 77 and thought there was something wrong with me because I did not want to socialise much.I find most people only want to talk about themselves and their families. They have no desire to know whatI think or feel about anything and often they skate over the surface of life worrying about clothes, having their nails done etc. They do not read books, take interest in current affairs or anything beyond their own world.I am over it and reading all these comments tells me I am not alone. In our younger years we are so busy so it is nice to have time for what we really want to do.I always felt guilty if I wasn’t busy and productive. Now I enjoy things without guilt. This is freedom.

I started feeling this at around age 60. Been a caregiver all my life. Couldnt take the pull of other people around me. I love my quiet time.

I am 69 and I had a very busy life when I was younger. After I retired I really enjoyed the solitude of being by myself. I’m happier when I’m not around other people.

To everyone who reads this, though we’re strangers and may never cross paths, I want you to know that I genuinely wish you all the best that life has to offer. May you find strength in tough times, joy in the little things, and the courage to pursue what truly matters to you. No matter where life takes you, I hope luck finds you when you need it most, and that kindness, peace, and fulfillment fill your journey.

Omgosh, these stories are exactly what I have been experiencing. I am in my 70"s and find solitude to be so helpful in my health. And the comment you reiterated many times: it's not about any dislike for the people, it is for self care. Thank you.
