I'm 70. I Avoid People Now. Here's Why | Advice From Old People

Life teaches us many lessons, and as we grow older, we begin to understand what truly matters. *Advice from old people often revolves around prioritizing peace, letting go of unnecessary burdens, and embracing solitude without guilt. Many older individuals find themselves becoming more selective with their time, choosing meaningful relationships over social obligations. This shift is not about bitterness but about valuing every moment. Advice from old people reminds us that quality is more important than quantity—whether in friendships, conversations, or life experiences. They emphasize that trust is fragile and should be given carefully, and that protecting one’s well-being is an essential act of self-respect. In a world that constantly demands attention, their wisdom encourages younger generations to slow down, appreciate simplicity, and live authentically. Ultimately, advice from old people is a gift, offering insights that can help us all lead more fulfilling and intentional lives.

"Through the channel, we aim to disseminate life lessons, offer valuable knowledge, and ignite inspiration and motivation among our audience with the wisdom of poignant sayings, insightful advice, and the finest quotes."

All research and storylines are fully done by us and ours.

I’m turning 70. Totally agree. The key for me is to not let stupid people occupy my time.

67, happily retired, living in a small, quiet town with my 2 dogs. I worked hard to earn this peaceful time and it’s wonderful.

I’m 77 and many people ask me if I don’t get lonely… I say no because I have learned to treasure my own time and learning. Thank you for letting me know it’s ok to be where I am. ❤

Agreed! I’m 75 & have always been a natural loner, an introvert; even more so now. YOU have articulated WHY it makes me happy to be alone. Thank you! ❤

I'm 73 living on a beach in Thailand. I learned to be my best friend. I have created a single, solo, spartan life style and surrounded by nature. I have always been a loner ( married 3 times though ). Always felt alone in a crowd. I have been blessed with good genes and swim, walk, aerobics every day. At night I sit on my balcony looking out over ocean and able to say " there is no other place I want to be, nothing I'd rather be doing and need nothing I can't buy at 7-11 ". Glad to see and hear you and the folks on here. Cheers and good health to all..

I'm 78 years old and I find a cup of coffee and good book in the morning really starts my day, makes the rest of my day beautiful.

Toxic people and toxic vibes have been a real burden. It is healing to be in better environments that are free of these things.

…wealth is not how much you have; but, how little you want. Cherish the good people in one’s life, for true friends are few.

I used to think I might be "wasting time" when doing nothing by myself. Now those are the moments of time best spent.

1 👍 I’m 76! And live alone. I enjoy walking . Recently I realized that I didn’t have to drive to the grocery store. I could walk there and back! I have a nice backpack that I use to wear for camping. Now I use it for grocery shopping. I purchase what I can carry and walk it home, often humming an encouraging “Mantra.” It has created conversations in the store and out on the path home. I bring a good walking stick with me for balance and self defense. I was once a champion football player and I served 6 years in the US Air Force. So I’m attuned to vigorous challenges. These “Power Walks” keep me alive and enhance my over all life experience. I don’t drive to the local mall anymore. I walk there. When I arrive I treat myself to a large chocolate and vanilla ice cream cone that I consume as I walk the mall. I live in a two bedroom apartment that is full of books. I love my books and I love the Barnes And Noble Book Store in the Mall.

At 77 I value a good meal, a nice glass off wine, a good nights sleep. Things that I used to take for granted are so much more precious. No pains, no drama and happy bowels are simple blessings these days.

I’m 90! Mr Wise Advise, Bravo! All your very words, thoughts and actions, have rolled around in my head for over half a century. You have so eloquently placed them in an order where I no longer feel so different! I enjoy
the freedom of not having to check in or out with anyone. Nothing resorteth my soul as a luscious, 5 am wooded walk, ending in a magnificent sunrise and cup of coffee! HAPPY HERMIT!
