Make all your hopes and streams come true. GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs feature our new eighth generation NVIDIA video encoder, NVENC for short, now with support for open video encoding format AV1 - the biggest leap in encoding since H.264 was released nearly two decades ago!
The new AV1 encoder delivers 40% better efficiency. This means livestreams will appear as if bandwidth was increased by 40% — a big boost in image quality. AV1 also adds support for advanced features like high dynamic range.
This demo showcases the dramatic difference using AV1 vs H.264 while live streaming.

I'm gonna use my 2080 until it disintegrates. Then I will go for AMD.

Now we wait and see if AMD releases something 80% as good with 800% more hardware compatibility.

I wonder how many people purchased a 4000 series graphics card after watching this video only to find out that Twitch doesn't support AV1. Nvidia specifically referenced Twitch in this advertisement but failed to mention that AV1 is useless/unsupported on that streaming platform.

I was always mostly satisfied with Nvidia, I got a 3080 for a relatively good price. and now the RTX 4000 New features DLSS 3.0 AV1... and more locked for the 4000 series makes me sad because you know that everything could also run on the 3000 cards. But NVIDIA: eh no we need the money

Yeah, that's sweet. I'm not paying an arm and a leg up front, then another arm and another leg in electricity. Praying AMD answers this so I can jump ship with my next purchase. They are so much more consumer friendly.

so When will it launch? I bought the 4090 and till today the AV1 support is not yet available on OBS or SLOBS for Live Streaming. it's only available for recording.

OK Nvidia we get it. I am sold already. You can quit the whole marketing BS and release these cards already, please.

Nvidia have great tech. But they are basically screwing over everyone at this stage. I have been with Nvidia for years now. Time to give AMD a shot.

Very cool. I will use this to encode whatever h264 videos I have to AV1 and save drive space. The videos should take half the space of h264 while maintaining the same quality.

can't wait for av1 to be maintream on twitch and youtube. 1440p streaming quality like shown on this video would be amazing

this encoder is amazing but I will wait to see decent prices on these gpu's before I even consider upgrading.

Why does it not mention ANYWHERE in the marketing that you CANNOT EXPORT in AV1 using Davinci Resolve... Bruh, I was able to Export AV1 9x quicker with my Intel Arc A770.

I'm more impressed with how nvdec on the 4090 can do 8K60 HDR AV1 decoding on YouTube without dropping frames. The encoding quality is just OK, not really any better than nvenc H265.

Why is there a large amount of dislikes on Nvidia videos?

i don't understand, AV1 is compatible for RTX 3000 on nvidia page, why here it's lock to 4000 ?

Interesting as the clear picture on right side was also that clear when they did promo for 20 series then 30 series GPUs encoder.. now the 30 series suddenly looks as bad as 10 series encoder.. interesting

This technology may have been developed a long time ago but they're just releasing it in installments for sale. 🤣

Funny how nvidia avoided comparing av1 to h265 which has already available since 10 series and preforms the exact same 😂😂😂

If only I didn't need to sell a kidney to play video games.
