Keep your smart home messages private with this idea.

Sometimes you don't want your smart home to announce everything out loud. Whether the topic is sensitive or just something you would rather not be shouted aloud, automations information should have a way of storing themselves away until the appropriate time and based on my experiments this is useful!

This has definitely at least revived my desire to do an announcement script which targets the speaker nearest someone!

I already do something similar where we get a summary announcement when I run the good night script, which tells me if I forgot to load the washing machine, plug in my car, left any windows open etc 👌

A simpler and less powerful way to do this is to “wait for trigger” in Home Assistant.

Actually My home automation has something like this, it knows when me/or/and my wife are home and trigger the messages only in the rooms with presence, if we have guests (guest wifi network) it sends us messages via whatsapp, also when we're on the supermarket or pharmacy for example it tell us what to get on that particular place (via whatsapp pulled from the amazon shopping lists)

We should join forces on this one ;)

Besides that!, my home (powered with your amazing openai node collection, knows who is at home so they call us by our names when we're alone or both :D

Very cool. Getting a nice GPT-based summary of the queued messages would be great instead of a blast of N discrete messages.

I (like a lot of people) read the book "Getting Things Done". A principle in there was to understand the *context* in which a task was valid. Contexts could be people and/or locations, typically. It was difficult to keep up with. There were apps that could help you to sort things by those contexts, but you had to remember to look. Having a to-do list that was, "remind me when my wife and I are in the kitchen together on the weekend to have her hold the ladder while I change that bulb" is potentially powerful stuff. If the implementation was an active reminder precisely in the right context reaching out to you - wow.

Nice idea. Same principal.. when you walk out the front door it can tell you the bins need to go out and the mail hasn't been collected. When you are about to head upstairs or downstairs it can remind you of anything you need to take up or down the stairs. Quite a few interesting applications. Even more if you do mobile message queuing for location based

Really ingenious idea, will be useful to make sure you remember things when you walk in to a certain area such as the kitchen and the dishwasher needs emptying.
