This video is to conquer the confusion around the different names of an oil burner diffuser by discussing the differences and their origin. The original name is an oil diffuser. The confusion comes from the fact that the word diffuser can refer to an oil burner or a reed diffuser which is a glass bottle of fragrance with bamboo sticks.

Wax burners or wax warmers are the same as oil diffusers but they were designed with wax in mind, these were created by candle makers that were left with excess wax and instead of throwing it away, they reused it.

A wax warmer shouldn't be confused with a wax melter which is an electric pot that can store and melt litres of wax in preparation to make candles and other wax-based products. The term oil burner can also get confusing because it can either refer to an oil diffuser or an old fashion oil boiler which is used for heating the home and your hot water. I hope that this settles the confusion around these names that all mean the same!
