The retrofit of this new lock for the existing Ingersoll cylinder and nightlatch isn’t a good example and
to be honest looks terrible. Please note 2:21 & 2:29. I wouldn’t be happy with this done to my door.
Could an existing traditional Yale 77 nightlatch & staple be used in its same position without altering the position of the
nightlatch & staple if this is what’s on the door?

I have asked time + time again for an answer to this question, please read the question! I ALREADY have the smart lock, I don't need to attach to door, I have 2 new fobs but as this was here when I bought this house I just need to pair them to this lock! I have a brain injury so would like simple instruction on how to pair them with my lock, I already have 2 fobs9 already paired but don't know how to pair my new spares! There are no answers about pairing fobs :-(

How am I supposed to cut the connecting rod the instructions that came with it said just snip with pliers 😂 your video shows a junior hack saw so far I have used four blades and only have a scratch on it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

wow, quick look ahead of fitting this tomorrow and you could not have made it look any more complicated if you had tried

It's only a dead latch and not a mortice lock, it is a complete waste of money, a simple kick to the door will break off a dead latch even if you install the largest screw available to your staple there are still several methods to bypass a dead latch or night latch has they call it.
If you choose to fit this I would highly recommend fitting a decent mortice lock as well, also this lock does not provide a handle to pull the door shut, dead latches should actually be that DEAD and never used by anybody for security.
Yale I am surprised that you would develop such a useless lock, all locks can be bypassed but this lock and the price is giving people such a false sense of security that even the most dumbest house thief could bypass this in under 5 seconds.


I have now seen it has a small handle to pull the door shut, still not good enough you need to make sure the door is locked tight, the alarm system does not matter how often do you hear alarms going off at night, curse the owners and try to go back to sleep. Even with good neighbours by the time they call the police and if they get a response and if an actual police car was sent that would still give any thief over 30+ minutes to quickly take what they could carry and be on their way.

People need to be much smarter on home protection and I suggest if you leave your home at night or will be away from home for a long time use a small light that can be seen near the main window, download a 10 or 20 hour recording you can find on youtube of soft music and a conversation to a old bluetooth phone left on charge set the tune to loop play so it never ends sync it to small bluetooth speakers that can be placed near the main window near the front door, the light can be put on a timer to switch on at night.
Thieves will observe a place before entering and if they think the home is occupied they will move on rather than risk confrontation.
