A reddit post measured time from the viewmodel animation and then claimed CS2 was delayed (when it's CS:GO that has a delayed viewmodel animation). At best the early viewmodel animation might be part of the reason CS2 kills feel worse.

There is a bug where the ragdoll is frozen for 1 tick and the playermodel "teleports", but that's the only evidence of actual delay.

In my opinion the main issue are the particles and fading-in decals.

99% of the people complaining about cs2 hitreg being worse than csgo boils down to this effect's delay. Should just be instant, much more readable.

people who say its only visual are clowns. there are many evidences where cs2 is even worse than csgo pre hitbox update. characters wiggle and twist like some kind of aliens. people headshoting while running in matter of seconds. and the best. spraying in cs2 feels terrible. when was the last time you saw a spray transfer in pro scene?

It amazes me how a good system in paper, isn't as good in gameplay. They should get rid of lag compensation and this would be fixed. Subtick is a really good idea, but deaths are delayed because of lag compensation and tickrate.

i assume the "teleport" is the game switching out the player model(that you can collide with) to the ragdoll model(that you CAN'T collide with). thats just my assumption right now and i am willing to be wrong on that one. personally I don't notice that much of a difference than people on reddit/twitter/whatever say, i played csgo dm versus bots yesterday and didn't notice a big difference.

Another guy did the tests with fakelag and had cs2 being 18ms higher than csgo

I mean this doesn’t say much you have to record it with a slow motion camera with a good Hz monitor to tell really the difference…I mean you stated the obvious : the game refreshes on 64ticks it actually says very less about the Cs2 latency that is huge
