Before Victor Wembanyama, 25 years ago Frederic Weis was a first-round draft pick out of France, whose career, to many, was defined by a single moment on the world’s biggest stage. Weis reflects on a journey defined by much more than that moment.

People would remember him to be the one who was dunked on by Carter but the most significant part about him is HE IS A GOOD FATHER… A GOOD MAN and HE TRULY LOVES HIS SON and family. That’s what matters.

Getting posterized is embarrassing but a part of the game. It is HUGE to say you were a silver medalist in the olympics. That is a lifelong achievement. To play pro in any sport at any level is also an achievement, let alone to also be drafted into the NBA. People like me dream about those things. Congrats on your success.

Most in these comments literally say "I can't watch an 8-minute documentary, my attention span stops after the disclaimer"

Thank you for sharing Fred Weis' story! I didn't know him too much until the past few years when he started working for the French Basketball Show "NBA Extra" and he's really good as an analyst, commentator, and a lively personality. This was a very touching video!

I'm from his hometown in France and I'm glad that he's doing good. I hear him commenting live basketball games sometimes and I love his comments, he's great at this !

This is a great story. Glad he recovered and is doing well. Also, love that his son is still representing NYK.

If I need to know everything that is wrong with society today, most of them are in these comments. Trolls sitting behind a keyboard making fun of a guy who had personal struggles because they can’t deal with how insecure they are in their own lives. Embarrassing behavior honestly

Meilleur commentateur actuel de match. Vraiment top lors de la prepa de l'équipe de France sur l'équipe tv. J'ai appris ce qu'etait un "curl", merci Fred!

Thank you for sharing this story. Its important on so many levels, including a window into a parent’s mind and soul when their child is diagnosed with autism. Happy to see him happy
