Lenovo Legion Y740 15' unboxed and first impresions !

Today I take a first look at the Y740 15" and compare it to the Razer 15 and Acer Triton 500.
The specs of my unit are
1080p, 144 hz IPS Gsync display
i7 8750h
RTX 2070 Max Q
256 GB SSD
1TB 7200 rpm HDD
2 x 8GB RAM
Price as configured $1678

The prices there are reasonable!
Same unit/specs cost like 2300 euros in Finland, which is pretty mind blowingly expensive!
And that Y740 just looks good - not over the top!

Nice vid. I really like it when reviewers do side-by-side comparisons like that. It makes it easier for we the viewers to see the differences between devices.

The 15" 740 on my list of top five possible laptops to buy. It's powerful, well built, and looks decent. If it had a QHD option - my preferred display resolution for a 15" laptop - the 740 would be in my top three.

Of the three in your video, I like the looks of the Triton 500 the best, but its ass-backwards internals are a deal breaker for me.

Design wise it's really nice, its clean not even big stickers..port location is also nice, just the numpad and that big power brick.

You're a lucky person since these are still delayed due to their well-deserved popularity ;-) Can't wait for more detailed benchmarks, would really like to see detailed benchmarks for stuff like Metro Exodus and maybe a few MMORPG games like FFXIV and Black Desert Online (if you have time, if not - not a big deal).

I have this on order, keeps getting pushed back to nearly 10 weeks now. Opted for the i7 16gb ram 2060 and 512ssd with the other drive empty for another ssd down the line. For the price that’s a hell of a lot of performance wrapped in something an adult won’t be embarrassed about using in public!
