As someone who worked in luxury fashion before, the Chanel bags specifically are generally good investment pieces, especially the Chanel mini in lambskin as their prices have just increased in march (and hear say it may happen soon) and are slowly trying to be more exclusive like Hermes.

About the SA mood thing, I'm guessing they are trying to be like Hermes, where they have you'll spend $X to get a bag (?). Obvious if you constantly buy a lot from that specific SA, he/she will defo make the effort to send you a message about the latest collection/new arrivals cuz they know these customers will spend their money for their lifestyle

I bought my mom a Chanel flap bag for $5960. She doesnt even want to carry it out bc scared of damaging it. So its kind of a waste i think.

It’s fun to watch. I’m surprised the Deauville bag is on your worst list. I love my bag and don’t find the small size heavy, and I hate heavy bags. I have the *topluxs* and it’s beautiful. I actually like the big logo, I bought it because it’s beautiful. I agree with many of your choices for the worst bags, I really wanted to buy a Chanel 19, but couldn’t get the straps to secure on my shoulders.

It's like as we go up the price range, the more mundane the reasoning for purchasing the item. 7:59 case in point.

normally, I would say, "you do you", but I will never understand an expensive purchase like these. and usually these brands don't really sell these stuff to the rich. They sell it to those who wanna look rich.

I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. 🤦🏻♀ The other one is a $40 one *yutulux* Backpack Replica - also works for Compare - I can't find any difference and still use it for the gym 😅
