I love Kareem's reaction the best. When he says "The hell I don't!" Then, he looks around like, "Damnit! I've blown my cover!"

As an old guy who watched Kareem, Walton and Lanier play against each other, and wage war in the paint, this is one of the greatest lines ever.

Apparently that joke got more laughs than they anticipated when they originally screened it so they had to add 5 seconds of just showing Joey's reaction to let the audience laugher die down before they continued with the rest of the scene.

What I appreciate almost as much as this scene, is the fact that many years later there’s a skit where a kid goes to Kareem and identifies him as Roger Murdock and then talks about how he dad thinks he’s an awful pilot. 😂

Having him break character whether he was Kareem or not is just such brilliant writing. The fact they brought him in makes it that much better.

I have always been a huge Sixers fan...but I love Kareem. What a legend. Great guy who tried to make the world a better place and, little did we know, also had a talent for comedy. This is one of the classic comedy scenes in film.
