They made a name for Canada when most of the world doubted them.Against all fought brilliantly and ferociously.Never started a war and never lost one either. Its crazy how no one seems to give a s**t.

10, 000 people lost and "The battle did little to change the course of the war."

Doesn't that make you so angry?

Can you tell us why Britain wanted to liberate the Vimy ridge, did they work with France and want to save their land so that they could fight Germany together?

I must say great doc do you happen to know who was the Canadian who went to the germans prior to the battle giving details a lot of the time websites state anglogerman Canadian but nothing more in the late 70's I would push a vimy vet in remembrance Sunday parade in the uk he told me that after the war it became known to those who survived that a Canadian had crossed over to the germans but was never told more he thought the guy was from Montreal and was a high rank due to he had in-depth knowledge to pass on to the germans it would make an interesting video if you could find out

I have served with the Canadians, and I like you folk, but the history of Vimy is always given a significant national slant in the telling. Yes to magnificent fighting skills of the Corps, but no one ever mentions the British Army in this attack. It was 5 x divisional assault - not 4 - and the Corps was augmented by a UK Div. In fact, it is fair to say that probably half the soldiers were from British Units (Div, Corps, and Army troops allocated) or were British born serving in the CF - and not Canadian in any sense. To do right by everyone involved, the narrative needs to become factual.
