I've got the pixel 7 pro. Awesome photos. Most of the issues highlighted here are software based more than hardware which can be fixed. And there are third party apps if needed. Also the iphone is almost twice more expensive, but nowhere near twice as good.

The Pixel 7 audio was pretty neat, but you can hear the weird audio artifacts when it tries to suppress the background. It reminds me of Nvidia's tech. Otherwise I'm currently typing this on a Pixel 7 pro. I'm not a fan of apples walled garden and anti consumer tactics, which is why I haven't switched. I've always loved iPhones video, but if I'm buying it specifically for that while sacrificing the Google services I've come to love, I might as well just buy an expensive point and shoot. I think both camera systems look excellent. I'd probably go with the base pixel 7 because of how competitive the pricing is and the night capabilities it has.
The iPhone is definitely a better with video and portraits but overall the pixel would be the better package for me

The results are mostly like expected, but im am really impressed by the dynamic range for the Pixel 7 Pro for landscape shots and night mode. The glare was a little disappointing with the pixel but it really was an inch better with brightness.
The Zoom results were similar to the one with the Samsung S22 Ultra.
For selfies it is a clear win for the iphone much better at night.
Video results are again so close to the S22 Ultra.
The iphone makes really good video with great dynamic range and at night it has almost no noise and is really clear and charp, much better then the pixel.

iPhone always apply a green colour tone to the photos. Pixel's colour accuracy is top! Also this year's iPhones have surprisingly bad HDR.. Pixel needs to fix the flare issue and the portrait mode that it's actually doesn't work properly! For its money it's a pretty solid camera though..

When it comes to photos it is close between the two. But then, when it comes to video the difference between them is truly ridiculous!

Interesting that one of the Pixel’s strengths was not even mentioned here. Deblurring motion in photos by taking an ultrawide and main shot and using one to remove motion blur. Should have done a few camera shots in both where he was shaking his head or the person taking the shot was not holding the camera steady, especially in low light. In the real world, not everyone holds still (animals, children), and those shots are just deleted because they are wasted opportunities. In fairness, Saf should have demonstrated that.

Portrait mode on pixel is very frustrating, I faced same issues with 6pro

Not sure if its the same on the Pixel 7 Pro, but on the Pixel 6 Pro, portrait does indeed limit to 1x or 2x, but if you just shoot normally, you can use the 4x lens, and apply the blur effect in post by going to edit>tools>blur
