That vehicle is perfect for large families and is excellent for road trips. The 7.3 diesel one we had would get 20 mpg highway. We loved that truck.

No it's one of the best SUV ford made with a diesel . These days are similar to the oil crises of the late 70s everyone was dumping there barges for little Hondas now u see those cars and there is soft spot for them so it's all relative

Yeah it's ridiculous!... Ridiculously AWESOME! One of the only SUVs that can pull my 38' 7", 8, 800 lbs. travel trailer (yes, a 3/4 ton Suburban with the right options can, too; they're just much harder to find in that appropriate configuration). I was able to get a decent condition unit a lot cheaper than an equivalent 3/4 ton pickup with a bed shell. I need the interior storage more than an open pickup bed, and the ability to seat 9 comes in handy for get-togethers with friends/family.

It's ridiculous to haul groceries but nothing has come close to It's ability to haul 6 people and 15k pounds comfortably.

-Diesel engine option
-Is basically a truck with a camper shell

Nope. Owned mine for 18 years. Carried our family of 9 anywhere. 306k miles and still running. All seats down or removed, full sheets of plywood fit nicely. Also, Ford didn’t take the government bailout.

And if it were a diesel it would get roughly 20 MPG. Freaking amazing for a big ride.
