Full credit to north aswell, how good they played against the reigning premiers. High scoring game aswell. Great comeback from the pies though.

Bobby Hill 3 x Brownlow votes for this game? That last goal was literally from the winning mark. Not as speccy as the earlier one but a HUGE moment for sure.

As a roos fan this really sucked.

Not just because we lost but because when we were 50 plus up in the 3rd, I thought we had a good chance of losing.

Best game of the year, and the Roos are certainly showing something! Go Pies!

What a turn around in a game when it actually seemed like the Pies were in the whole game but the scoreboard said differently. Then, all of a sudden, the scoreboard reflected the game. Wpuldve been poetic justice for the Roos if that last snap scored a goal. The Pies are the come back specialists.

I was listening to a few minutes of the first half overnight in the US. I thought it was going to be a rough night for the Pies and woke up to a great result of a comeback win by the Might Magpies!

As a pies fan I was so impressed by North I mean i dont think they could have played a much better game. Before that last behind they kicked 19.1 and two rushed behinds. 19.1 ! That is absolutely unheard of in modern AFL. I was worried about this game going in as they are clearly a better team than people think and I just had a feeling they would play their hearts out ! I didnt expect us to be 50 plus down though, we didn't play well but we honestly didnt play that badly either they just took every opportunity they had and goaled from it which is a credit to a team that is clearly trying their best unlike times in the past. I hope North actually take this moment and continue to play well this season as their fans deserve some good wins after everything they have been through! I dont think anyone can dispute they are on the right track now and with all that youth it wouldn't surprise me if they do what the Hawks have done this year and shoot up the ladder in 2025 !

Dang man, Bobby Hill putting some of his best work in. Still a lot to see from him too when you forget how young he is.

I’m surprised the umpires didn’t chair Maynard off the ground.

Now this is something you don't often see. A successful comeback from 30 points down or more happens about once or twice a year on average. A successful comeback from 40 points down or more happens once or twice every few years on average. A successfull comeback from 50 points down or more usually happens around 2-3 times a decade on average. I could be wrong.

North Melbourne blew their season-high lead of 54 points, one of the ultimate chokes. From 33 points up against West Coast? Choked, but still won.

Let me name a few big leads blown.

Fremantle had a 2nd quarter lead of 51 points against previously winless Melbourne in 2008 at the MCG. Blown and lost by 6.
In 2009, West Coast had a second-quarter lead of 47 points against top-four Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. Blown, but won by 5.
In 2011, same two teams, same damn venue. West Coast led by 50 points early in the third quarter. Blown, but won by 8.
In 2013, Top-four Geelong led Brisbane by 52 points late in the third term at the Woolloongabba. Blown and lost by 5 after the siren.
Early in the 2015 season, Bulldogs led St Kilda by 55 points early in the third quarter at Etihad Stadium. Blown and lost by 7.
In 2017, Collingwood led eventual Grand Finalists Adelaide by 50 points at the MCG. Blown and match was tied after the siren.

Care to name a few?
