For vermouth, get it in the smallest bottle available. It's wine based and can oxidize if you aren't careful. Refrigerate it after opening and it'll be good for a month.

Y'all did a good job of framing this as a skit while also answering the common questions.

When I'm talking about classic cocktails I usually am referring to jager and redbull

I love that you guys are making more educational content apart from the jokes. I really enjoy this type of videos!

Not my preferences necessarily, but I can't find fault with any of those suggestions. Very helpful for someone setting up a simple bar!

Had a guy come to a liquor store I worked at years ago, said he wanted to stock a home bar for his friends. A couple of us helped him as best we could, little bit of everything, and he was making the selections. All in all it was about $3, 900 out the door. The very next weekend he was back, said that what he got was "okay" but he didn't have the stuff to make what everyone wanted. So we helped him out, and he ended up spending another $3, 000. Then came back in because he forgot about beer, and bought $4, 000 worth of beer. Kegs, bottles, cans, every brand and type you can imagine. Always seemed like a happy guy, good customer, was happy we helped. Had the news on at work like two weeks later, guy died in a car wreck.

Honestly with the liquers you can often DIY some of them, by converting berries/fruit (eg blackcurrant) into a 1:1 syrup with sugar and then add vodka, wine and water to get to 30-40 ish abv and boom you have " creme de mure" (blackberry liquer), saves you a ton of money.

That'd cost $268 dollars in Australia

I actually really appreciate this advice. I've been slowly accumulating bottles that I like (currently have some gin, rum, vodka, tequila, and bourbon) and finally set up a legit bar cart a few weeks ago. Besides bitters, grenadine, simple syrup, and triple sec, I wonder what else would be good to have on hand (I'm a huge fan of tropical/tiki drinks but also love me an old fashioned)

And make some of your ingredients when you can. Simple syrup is really simple, and so are others.

These guys are spot on. I would actually throw in a quality bourbon or Irish whiskey for sipping.

Captain Morgan isn't real rum. Plantation 3 Star is just a few dollars more and much higher quality mixer...
