How can something so small cause such big discomfort? We’re talking about the dreaded mosquito bite! 🦟

Sometimes, no matter how much you try to shield yourself, one slips by and leaves a bite — and the itch it causes can be relentless. Better to be prepared and keep a jar of this salve nearby for some much-needed relief, to get you through mosquito season.

There are MANY recipe variations out there… but this one is a no-fuss, EASY approach that herbalists of any skill level can try! 🙌

KEY HERBS
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) – soothing and calming, with anti-inflammatory benefits
Bentonite clay – draws out the toxins from the bite
Peppermint (Mentha x piperita) – cooling, itch relief

INGREDIENTS
🌿4 ounces lavender-infused olive oil
🌿1 tablespoon beeswax
🌿1 tablespoon shea butter
🌿2 teaspoons bentonite clay
🌿5 drops peppermint essential oil

DIRECTIONS
✨ In a double-boiler, melt the beeswax and shea butter together.
✨ Add the lavender-infused oil and mix well.
✨ Whisk in the bentonite clay until well combined.
✨ Remove from heat and add the peppermint essential oil.
✨ Pour the mixture into clean glass jars and allow to cool. You will see the liquid solidify and become lighter in color.

The end texture is a creamy relief your skin will thank you for!
Stored in a cool, dark place, this salve will keep for about 6 months.

Don’t forget to share this recipe with friends and family, we’ve got to stick together if we’re going to make it through this time of year! 😅
