We're back with another go karting 101 video! So you bought your first go kart, installed a 212cc engine (ours is a Tillotson 212), and you want to increase your go kart's performance. These are our five essential go kart mods if you want more power and a higher top speed! First, we remove the 212's governor. It's recommended that you install a high-RPM rated flywheel and a billet rod when removing the governor, because you're going from the factory engine speed of 3600 RPM to around 5500 RPM. Second, we replace the restrictive factory exhaust with a high flow header, install a larger carburetor jet, and add a K&N style intake. Finally, we put a smaller rear sprocket on this old go kart to decrease acceleration and increase top speed. With all of these mods, we went from a 40 second dry lap to a 35 second wet lap around the OG CarsandCameras Grand Prix. Talk about a HUGE improvement!

Did it! All but the gear change. And was able to get this kart you to 33mph, man what a rush! It zips. Next necessity is suspension, especially though the open fields.

Didn't have any luck with the. 037 jet with the stage 1 build. Idled great once you have it gas it cut out. I switched it with a VM22. It probably needed a .050 main jet with the stock carburetor. Running a 150 main jet, and a 30 pilot jet in the VM22. Runs perfect.
