Do a dual carb setup to stop it from leaning out under boost

That air filter couldn't feed a chipmunk enough air

Buddy clearly doesn’t read comments for suggestions.

I don't see how that pipe held any pressure.

Suggestion. Use a volume tank between the carb and turbo. A single cylinder engine has notable pulses of boost. You may need a volume tank on the exhaust side as well to help moderate those pulses.

Wheel snaps. "I know we need a bigger engine"

You need to add an expansion chamber for the boost because it's a single cylinder engine

You need a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pump if you want to do a blow through. The carb might need some mods though. Way easier to try a pull through setup on a budget.

If “ride it til the wheels fall off” was a person ⬆️

My buddy crazy Jay used to stuff like that in the 70s... He put a Suzuki 750 engine on a go cart, had to rig up the clutch, shifter and gas... Didn't last that long, but we had a blast on it till it fell apart, kind of like the one here. We had more fun with go-karts, dirt bikes, street bikes, boats, riding lawn mowers, etc... What great days those were, 50 years ago!

As someone who blew up at least 50 wheels/tires building my kart on the front spindles, investing in some quality wheels is paramount. I used to run solid rubber wheels from harbor freight on my front spindles. Those were the only cheap option where the bearings wouldn't explode after one run (or during the first run).

Make sure to use grease before you install the wheels, I use red and tacky. Gopowersports has good wheels that fit vintage spindles with bearings meant for the load. Also grease those before using, but they will last longer. Drilling through your spindle and using a castle nut will keep the wheels from coming off, and also let you run with the nut looser, letting the wheel spin easier.

Also i would recommend getting a wider rear end if you're gonna run more power. I have a less than stock 301cc, and before i got a wider rear end, both my and my friend had flipped it.

Best of luck to you

You really need to build an aluminum intake pipe with couplers so you can actually build boost.

Man that sound would be right in your ear I love it I hope for your sake it never gets red hot like some of those turbo videos cause that’s a cool setup “Floating Turbo”

Almost had it my guy. You put it all that time on the exhaust manifold, but said ehh this will do for the intake. You know it’s not holding any pressure at all, right?

About 55 years ago I supercharged a Briggs & Stratton on a go-kart using one of those “smog pumps” from the early days of pollution reduction regs. It worked pretty well.

That’s the cutest little filter on that teeny turbo 😂. I’m going right now to check out this build. I haven’t seen one since the Boosted Boys made one out of a shopping cart 😊

the fact that he didn’t even hide the vice grip that was holding on that wheel
