Irony: A security camera capturing incriminating evidence of you destroying said camera so that it can’t capture incriminating evidence of you.

We have a neighbor like that and it’s awful. He is an absolute tyrant cops there all the time, and the cops do nothing.

I've been in a situation just like this, and I remember it well.

I became constantly enraged at my downstairs neighbor, who was a vicious sociopath.

She'd hear my footsteps in her ceiling (which was unavoidable, and I am in no way a loud or inconsiderate person), and proceed to bang on the ceiling with a broomstick or something.

On and on, making it endlessly anxious for me just to walk in my own apartment.

The resentment and hostility I felt for her became very serious, and very debilitating, and also something I seemed unable to let go of.

I had to bring the police into it. Then I'd bump into her or her husband outside, and it was indescribably tense.

I tried to explain to them both that it wasn't intentional of me to be heard below, in their apartment, but was a result of the way the building was constructed. It was like a drum, between floors.

I still regret how I lost control of myself in those weeks, but it was beyond me. The woman was insane, and eventually moved out, as did I.

It was an unforgettable nightmare.

Those crazy type people just want a reaction from you, they get pleasure out of your discomfort.

Dropping the charges before the house was sold was taking a big chance.

We had this problem and gratefully used it as a catalyst to get us out of the city and away from neighbors all together. Sold the house and everything else that we could. Bought a home in the middle of the woods in a rural area. There are only 5 families on the entire 2 mile gravel road. Best choice we've ever made.
