This ipad makes perfect sense to me as a musician. I don't need the latest tech in screens, I don't need a keyboard (for live gigs) or a pencil, it is powerful enough, and the screen size is a joy. The USB port is faster than i need to record and i never use the rear camera. Not everything is Video Editing or coding

I recently upgraded from a M1 iPad Air to the M2 iPad Air 13 inch and I love it so much. Super powerful and the bigger screen is just awesome.

Got an 11 inch entry model iPad Air. Going back to school, so it’s plenty for what I’ll need as a student as a digital note taking device and doing Microsoft Office work here and there. Also did Apple Trade in with my old iPad so I got it at a pretty solid price.

I don’t get why people struggle with the 13” iPad Air, it’s Pro-lite at an affordable price. For me it was far more attractive than its Pro M4 cousin, and does everything I need it to. The screen size and M2 chip made it a no brainer for me. The Apple Pencil Pro was a bonus, although living in the UK, sadly we don’t get a power brick (even though we pay more for the device!).

I didn't realize the old ipad pro cases fit this one. Thank you! I had the original 11" ipad pro, went to the M1 12.9" (didn't have cellular, so I also go the mini 6th gen with cellular) and finally downgraded to the new M2 Air with cellular. I never got rid of my 11" cases. I just realized my keyboard case fits. I just have to cutout the space for the larger touch ID button.

Recently upgraded from the first gen iPad Pro to the 13 iPad Air. I’ve increased the resolution and used mine mainly for Lightroom. It’s a brighter screen than my old tablet. Is blazing fast and has all that extra real estate, I love it.
I’m now ordering the pencil pro for painting etc.
I didn’t immediately notice the lack of pro-motion. But then I don’t spend my time flicking the pages back and forward to try and spot the difference. So another £400 for the pro has no real benefit for me.

Additionally, I’m not spending over a thousand pounds on the iPad Air because I don’t need a keyboard, also currently the cheapest iPad Pro M1 12.9” in the UK from Apple is £1369!

This iPad is the perfect option for artists!! Personally, the investment of an iPadpro+ Apple pencil was far too expensive, so this new option, compatible with the Pencil pro and with the Education discounts is an amazing quality-prize option!
It’s perfect as a first iPad for any artist without a big budget tbh, you get the newest features, updates plus the pencils pressure sensitivity, haptic response and barrel roll, All this without adding that the multitask options make it super easy to do homework or attend online classes, the gaming quality is good and the battery holds 3-4 full hours of video conference with Bluetooth headphones and the Apple pencil attatched…

I don’t like 2nd hand devices either, so it really feels like I bought just last year’s Pro with an amazing price point… writing from my 1 month-old iPad air M2, I really reccomend!!!

I traded in my beloved iPad mini 5 for the M2 11" iPad Air with no regrets. I wanted a bigger iPad with a laminated display. I purchased from Apple education store with a trade in and was able to get the base model for less that $400 with tax. Not everyone needs a iPad Pro. I had my mini for 5 years and definitely plan to keep the Air for much longer than that.

As a musician using my iPad Pro mainly for reading sheet music, the 13" Air is perfect for me. Sure 120Hz would be nice, and the quad speakers are great but as an upgrade from my 2015 12.9" iPad Pro this is what I've been waiting for. Longer battery and a bit less weight is more valuable to me over the nicer "Pro" features. As a teacher I'm hoping for Apple's back to school deal to include £100 gift card and I'll be able to get the base 13" iPad Air and Pencil Pro all in for only £768 instead of £928 which would be sick! 🤞

I have purchased TWO iPad Air 13" models!. One is for my wife and one is for me and we don't fit into either of your buyer categories. We are both in our mid (late for me) seventies; my wife has sight problems and finds the 13" iPad much much better for media consumption. While I have a Mac Mini, the 13" iPad is an essential step in the progress to using iOS devices as my only computers. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard so that my hardware at least is as good or better than any MacBook. If only iPadOS could get some proper support the iPad would be perfect for me. iPadOS desperately needs the Files app to be at the same standard as the macOS Finder and having an alternative backup method to iCloud would be great.
Thanks fo

I love my new air 13 inch! The screen is amazing, battery life is awesome. It’s really fast and has good sound. I like everything about it. (I came from iPad 10). I’ve even had a pro before, but it was overkill and heavy so I sold it. Maybe the new lighter version is great if you want to spend 1200 bucks or more go for it.

I would get one because I can use the keyboard that I already have and still be able to put the M2 chip to use. The lower spec display doesn’t bother me as I rarely notice how good my M1 12.9” iPad Pro screen is when compared to the display on my iPad Mini 6.

I got the new 11 inch iPad air M2 because I wanted to use a pencil. Because I don’t like the market refurbished products because it gives me exactly what I need and a less expensive price point than the iPad Pro M4, which I returned.

Can anyone tell me for an alternative for my ipad air m2 please?
Because the other alternatives are not working properly

As soon as the Air 5 price dropped to $399US after the release of the new Air I bought one. The 11' screen, M1 chip, and 64GB storage are more than enough for me.

I have the ipad pro 10.5. I'm a artist and animator. I was looking at 11 inch I pad pro. But 13 inch air sounds good too but your right I;would lose pro motion

I really can’t decide if I am going to “upgrade” my iPad Pro 2018 to the 2024 Air or get a refurbished M2 iPad Pro when they come to the Apple Store. Has anyone switch to the new Air? I know it comes with downsides I.e. lack of pro motion etc. are the trade off worth it.
