Proving one of the famous equations of motions. This will hopefully give you a better understanding of how to prove this equation . I'll probably do the other equations' derivations in another video.

I recently tried to revive my schoolboy interest in this but fell at the first hurdle. Of course, if you drop an object, it accelerates at g, or about 9.81ms^2 and after one second is travelling at 9.81ms-1. If you use s=ut+1/2at^2 it works out at only half that as ut=0 and 1/2at^2 is 0.5 x 9.81 x 1^2. Am i doing something wrong?

Why is the Vavg =u+v/2 and not u+v/t
As i know avg velocity =s/t
