They got rejected by the throne by sitting on it. The throne haven’t been maden for sitting. If you are a suitable ruler, you will not just sit on your ass, instead you will take the responsibility and go to battles, go to streets and solve the problems on your own.

Joffrey wasn't damaged, Aegon the first was cut and he build it. Its a throne made by swords so its normal to cut the ones who sits

Robert said, it was uncomfortable. Jaime claimed, he sat comfortable, so the Throne has odd tastes.

I thought, and I am sure that this was in the books, that The throne was made the way it was on purpose. It was made so that whomever sat on it would never truly be comfortable because a King should never be comfortable. I don't remember ever reading anything in the books about the the king being rejected by the throne if they got cut. Sounds like a fan Theory to me.

Yeah, right. Basic logic: A chain or throne made of swords that disregard safety and built unrefined, clearly someone will get cut.

Visery’s was an idiot. So many death could’ve been avoided if he didn’t do dumb things.

He trusted anyone but his brother and put his daughter life on the line so often…

Low-key a terrible King.🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Considering Aegon didn’t have much time to sit in it before his accident.

In the books it’s described as almost if the throne is living as those deemed unworthy are cut. So Rhaenyra, Viserys, Maegor, Aerys all cut. Joffrey only sat on it for a few months that’s why he never was cut. Robert hated the idea of ruling so much he probably only sat on the thing a handful of times. Yes it’s made of blades but Daeron II, Viserys II, and Jaehaerys I were never cut on it because they were deemed worthy rulers. I also don’t remember seeing anything of Aegon the conqueror being cut on the throne.

Having his beloved wife be held down and cut open without even any reagent to knock her out makes him the worst.

And then, at the very end (assuming GRRM came up with it), Drogon melts the throne, implying that it had been been bad for them all along. Likely symbolizing greed, but maybe there was more to it?

The freakin' throne is made of 1, 000 BLADES (far less in GOT because many had been removed), so yeah, of course people who sit on it will get cuts! DUH!!

Aegon the 2nd was never cut so by right he was fit to sit on the iron throne

The point of the throne was to sit uncomfortably, so that the king wouldn't linger around passively. To understand that every moment, there were daggers metaphorically and swords literally aimed to cut him down if not carful

Stack up some blankets and pillows on it.

The throne was simple not made comfortable enough, to remind the king of responsibility he holds and that he was not supposed to be sitting there idle all the time

Robert, Tommen and Cersei. Did they received throne cuts in the books?
