Wearing a cross is absolutely forbidden. Wearing magic underwear is absolutely required. Makes perfect sense to me.

Growing up Baptist, I believed the crucifix was focusing on the death, but the empty cross was a symbol of resurrection. Same-same but different.

Crosses on Google maps. Tank top garments. Constantly revising the endowment. This “eternal” church changes an awful lot.

Mormons always have the Matthew McConahey Jesus

I'm no longer calling it the restored church. It's now the continually revised church.

I love how the Mormon Church can change core teachings whenever it suits them.

“Idolatry bad”, sings songs about “the temple” from childhood. 🤦‍♀️ I’m so glad you got out🥰💜

Growing up in Utah as a CATHOLIC and having people give me dirty looks for wearing a cross was something else, man. It always felt like I was being held to Mormon standards without being Mormon myself. Except I didn’t know what the rules were until I accidentally pissed someone off. The constant walking on eggshells was seriously so exhausting.

I was always astounded how the Mormons depict Jesus as looking like Kenny Loggins and the prophets looking like body builders!

The changing of rules is such a weird betrayal of the trauma we were subject to

We are Catholic (like REALLY Catholic) but grew up in Idaho…lots of Mormons there. Many are still good friends. When my older brother’s friend came back from his mission in Louisiana he told my brother that they knew the Catholic houses by the Crucifix and those houses were the first to be kind but ultimately slam the door and say “no thank you!” Lol

OMG... I live in Brazil, and the Mormon church is trying SO HARD to get converts here, it kind of pisses me off... I keep seeing this ads on YouTube of them trying to get people to go to their website with promises of "help from God" using prompts like "do you feel like you need help?".

Many people fall for it, because Brazil is a poor country, and so many people don't have a proper education and are just feeling tired and looking for help. It's also a very religious country, so this "christian rebranding" unfortunately works. Poor and naive people fall prey to this religious organization that takes 10% of their income. Note that the minimum wage here is 245 dollars A MONTH, and that is what the majority of the population makes...

I see LDS chapels opening in pretty much every city nowadays. It's sickening. However, the mormons aren't the first cult to think of doing this. The JWs, the Seventh day Adventists, random pentecostal churches that promise prosperity and many others are big around here. Preying on poor people seems to be a very successful way of growing cults.

A cross is idol worship, but worshiping joseph smith is fine. Lol

Ironic they are offended by the cross, while thinking they will be gods of their own planets; since thinking one could ascend to be a god is what caused Satan's fall.

I grew up Mormon went on a mission, got married in the temple. I remember when the cross was considered no, no. I left 7 years ago. The church continues to morph into something unrecognizable to what I grew up with.

Mormons have the angel Moroni on top of their temple. Is that idol worship?

I was a *very scandalous* missionary and I’d wear this pretty little cross pendant that a mainstream Christian friend had given me sometimes… my first mission president, who I admire and respect to this day, said it was between me and the Lord if I should wear it, my second mission president was a jerk so you can guess what he said 😂

as a catholic kid my parents frowned upon regulsr crosses, but for the opposite reason. "we are supposed to remember Jesus's death and all he has done for us, by not showing his corpus you are disrespecting his sacrifice" typa shit

As a Catholic we stepped up the cross to the crucifix. Not gonna lie, as a kid that terrified me.
