Driver Helps Rescue Baby Spotted Crawling Across Busy Road

The man was driving through Lakewood, New Jersey and first thought the little girl was a toy. CBS2's Meg Baker reports.

It speaks volumes when a good man is scared to hold a child because of how others might see it. He is a 1000% hero and deserves a medal for his actions in saving that baby! I wish nothing but the best for him and the baby.

I don't blame him for being afraid to pickup the child. He didn't know what someone else possibly did to the child for it to be in distress. You can easily get falsely accused of something these days if you aren't careful.

I’ve found a child outside wandering around one morning and the thing I always find so amazing in these stories is how non Chalant the parents or caregivers are about what’s happening.
I think it’s the embarrassment they feel bc I wouldn’t be that nonchalant if my child was missing out of the house or found in the street nearly hit and I’d be kissing the feet of the person who would found the child.

I have to say a lot of these threads are breaking my heart. This man is a lovely man and didn't feel comfy picking up the baby for reasons we all know and understand unfortunately. He acted beautifully and did the right thing top to bottom. Baby is alive and well and a disaster is averted. Can we just concentrate on the beauty of the story instead of chopping each other up?
