Flooding before Helene: Hurricane to slam North Carolina already underwater

As of Thursday morning, the county had received 7.74 inches of rain at the Asheville Airport, with predictions of additional 4-7 inches before 8 pm Thursday night.

Why weren’t mandatory evacuations ordered and the national guard in place before this storm hit our area. More should have been done to prevent loss of life.

Lake Louise has already flooded over a few hours ago and has been closed off. Beaver lake is close to overflowing as well and has been closed off as well. Will probably be flooded over by tomorrow.
