What Happened To Commander Cody After Order 66

After the rise of the Empire, many Clones began questioning the motives of the Empire as the Bad Batch will likely explore in season 2. It is yet to be seen whether Cody will stay loyal to the Empire in canon, although I suspect he may ultimately betray the Empire after realizing really how bad it really is. In legends, he did in fact question the Empire's Orders to some extent. He held disdain for the useless stormtroopers that replaced the clones and he even reminisced about his time fighting alongside Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, believing them to be heroes despite Order 66. Ultimately though, Cody remained loyal to the Empire and it is even rumored that he was cybernetically enhanced into a Phase 0 darktrooper, a fate worse than death.

Considering that Cody hated General Grievous so much, becoming a dark Trooper is such a disrespectful fate for the Comander

In Revenge of the Sith, I always believed he missed Obi Wan on purpose. He had just enough control to not aim for a kill. I know that's likely not it, but I don't care. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I remember playing battlefront II doing the campaign, and the sheer distain the 501st clonetrooper that does the narration has for the stormtroopers as the clones slowly were phased out really is interesting as a concept to base a series/novel on

Well, stormtroopers werent useless. They were Elite troopers. Cody was just used to have genetically perfect soldiers who are trained from birth, and was annoyed when stormtroopers couldnt do the same wich is why He was very harsh with them.
