DJI Avata Motion Controller Full Flight & Impressions

Now that the Motion Controller comes included with the DJI Avata, a LOT more people are going to be flying with it. Today, we go over some of the basic controls and fly using this remote!

For years I used the standard controller, when the FPV drone came out I ordered the motion controller because it reminded me of the control stick from flying jet aircraft. I was not disappointed and it is definitely my preferred method for flying. If you sit in a chair the experience is even better and much more comfortable!

What the motion controller does for me as a novice, it gives me flowy style video, more like a fixed wing than a quad drone. Using sticks as beginner makes it jerky, it takes a lot of practice and skill to get flowy motion from sticks. The motion controller makes good cinematic video easy for beginners. Things to watch out for, the motion controller can burn your batter a lot faster than you may be used to using the sticks, be aware of battery time. I got caught over a river with motion controller fail safe and had to over ride to keep it from landing in the river.

Setting in a chair with my arm resting on something as opposed to holding it out in front of myself seems like the way to go with that controller, lol, I’m ancient though, so everyone might not feel that way. This was a superb video on that motion controller, I don’t feel any need to search for more videos on the topic, my questions were answered here, really nice job!

I think having fun with the Motion Controller is cool. It is very cool tech. Some will prefer it, some will outgrow it and move to sticks.
I think it's ok to have options, even tho for best control and accuracy, sticks are still best.
For some beginners, the Motion Controller will be their first great experience and draw into our hobby. And I think this is a really good thing, the more people in our realm, the better for the future and acceptance of it.

The Motion Controller is great. I'm 59 and have arthritis in some of my fingers which makes flying with a regular remote difficult at times. The MC makes it easier for me to plus its a lot of fun. However its no replacement for the standard remote

Nice video! I still think DJI had a lot of unsold motion controllers and so they went for this combo only and no regular remote controller bundle (yet)

Thanks for the great video! I've been flying DJI drones since the P2, and never an FPV one. I've been really curious about how smooth the flight and video would be with the motion controller, as opposed to the cinematic awesomeness that many other videos show, and your video has nailed the questions I had in my mind. Billy You hit a Point with this Video.I Had a Really Bad Motorcycle Accident, ThankTo the Grace of GOD I am Here.With that being said I lost use of my right hand, So this Remote is the Best thing that DJI made!!!I can still use the other Joystick Remote but one Handed, so I Can't do the things you do But I have a Blast!!!Great Video!!!!By the way, I just received my Avata Thanks to your Videos!!!!

Excellent video. Thank you for reviewing the motion controller with the Avata. I think a lot of people want to know how this controller works as a beginner but many other videos I am watching keep bagging on the controller becasue they are so use to the regular controller. I do agree that they should bundle both controllers together but as a beginner this looks very intuitive.
