Aside from two air skirmishes against Libya, this war would be the only time the F-14 tomcat would ever partake in Aerial combat, with Iranian tomcat pilots claiming to have collectively shot down 150 of the 159 Iraqi aircraft downed in this war, though at the same time their 79 strong tomcat fleet was whittled down to the mid 40s due to a shortage of replacement parts

Iran won the war, Iraq's goal was to occupy south west iran and Iran's goal was to stop that from happening.

My father was 16 when iran tried to draft him in the war, his father told him to escape the country short notice that same day, he fled to India when he was 16, made it to canada when he was 19, he hasn't seen his father in 27 years, my grandfather came to canada to see him, when my dad went to the airport they did not recognize eathother. I can't fathom the hardship some people have been threw, go tell your parents you love them.

As a 24 year old Iranian boy I really appreciate that you made a video from Iran-Iraq War. But I have to say that in that time Iran didn't have chemical weapons. Iraq had and Saddam bought them from the USA. He thought that he could conquer all of the country just in 24 hours but the resistance of the army and normal people in Ahvaz, bothered him for 2 months and after 2 months he only captured Ahvaz Province. But you are right about "Child Soldiers". During the war, propaganda caused many children to escape from schools and fought for their Motherland. In Iran, the Regime doesn't call that action as a Child Soldier and even now they don't accept many mistakes but we know that it was such thing.
